Jagmohan Bangani

Jagmohan Bangani is a distinguished Indian visual artist, educator, and social entrepreneur. His work explores themes of language, memory, spirituality, and positive thinking, reflecting a profound connection to both personal experience and cultural philosophy.


Bangani holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Painting from the Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton, UK, and a Master’s in Drawing and Painting from D.A.V. (P.G.) College, Dehradun. Over the past two decades, he has developed a significant body of work that bridges contemporary thought with traditional sensibilities. His paintings often centered around meditative words, sacred chants, and visual abstractions invite viewers into spaces of reflection, silence, and transformation. 


He has held six solo exhibitions, including Visual Scriptures (2017), Scriptural Enchantment (2011), and Tapestry of Words (2008), and has participated in more than sixty group exhibitions across India and abroad. His work has been shown at prestigious venues such as the National Lalit Kala Akademi, Jehangir Art Gallery, British Council Gallery, CIMA Art Gallery, India Habitat Centre, and internationally in the UK, Iceland, and South Korea. Bangani’s works are part of prominent public and private collections, including the Secretariat of Uttarakhand State, the Ford Foundation, and the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi.


As the founder of the Bangani Art Foundation (BAF), he is dedicated to mentoring emerging artists, particularly from the Himalayan region, fostering a vibrant creative community and empowering the next generation of artists.
