Hanan Al Marzooqi

Hanan Ameen Al Marzooqi is an Emirati artist based in Dubai, whose art transforms emotions, experiences, and human values into visual narratives filled with depth and meaning. For Hanan, art was never a beginning but a constant presence in a language she grew into and made her own.

Her 17-year career in government, including her role at the UAE Prime Minister’s Office as Director and Director General’s Advisor, offered a rare foundation that shaped her artistic perspective. Working on national initiatives and large-scale events, she consistently infused creativity into functional spaces, blending vision with purpose. Through her involvement in Al Soroor as Executive Director the family business established in 1954 and specialises in textiles and fashion she continues to draw inspiration from the world of fabrics, color, and design. This intersection of creativity, heritage, and craftsmanship continues to inform her evolving artistic identity.

Hanan’s academic background in Business Information Technologies and Software Engineering, supported by professional certifications, provided a solid foundation for analytical and conceptual thinking. She later pursued fine art studies to enrich her creative path and shape her evolving artistic vision.

One of her main collections, Black Transparencies, explores the purity of black through layered, diluted tones that reveal subtle transparencies. Within each canvas, bold lines emerge alongside delicate washes, adding movement and structure to compositions where black often seen as an ending, becomes a beginning.

In addition to her collections, Hanan develops concept-driven art proposals for government entities, drawing on her extensive experience in national projects. This enables her to merge creativity with purpose designing artworks and concepts that reflect culture, identity, and the spirit of place.

Her artistic journey also extends into collaborations that bring her work to wider audiences. She partnered with Dubai Mall to showcase her art in a solo exhibition for Emirati Women’s Day 2025. Through this collaboration, she celebrated the achievements and inspiring role of Emirati women, presenting works that reflect identity, creativity, and the power of artistic expression in society.

Hanan also builds meaningful artistic partnerships across cultural, lifestyle, and design sectors. Her work often moves beyond the canvas, integrating art with fashion, jewelry, and contemporary brands.

She participates in cultural and community art initiatives, supporting creativity and emerging talent while expanding her artistic reach into new spaces.

Hanan continues to evolve her practice with the belief that creativity knows no boundaries and that art, in its deepest form, is a language that connects us, inspires us, and transforms simple moments into stories with purpose and vision.
