Feroz Khan
Mohammad Feroz Khan is a self-taught artist from Delhi, trained initially by his father, the banner painter Late Mohd Ibrahim Khan, and later mentored for 14 years by renowned artist Late Manjit Bawa. His practice focuses on figurative depictions of everyday life, street vendors, rickshaw pullers, and ordinary people rendered with careful attention to light, texture, and atmosphere. Rooted in Delhi’s urban environment, his work balances simplicity with technical finesse, capturing universal
human experiences.
Khan has held numerous solo exhibitions, including Krishna Collection (2004, Art Gallery, New Delhi), Tales of Ordinary People (2006, Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi), The Incredible Every Day-ness of Being (2008, Alliance Française, New Delhi & Epicentre, Gurgaon), Summer Stories (2017, Hyderabad), Mediating Dreams (2017, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi), and Contemporary Signatures (2025, Monalisa Kalagram, Pune). He has participated in group exhibitions nationally and internationally, including projects in London, Singapore, Dubai, South Korea, and charity initiatives such as the 2021 Covid-19 art project with Gnani Art Gallery, Singapore.
Khan has also participated in art residencies and camps, including In Conversation with Nature and Folklore Day Residency (2017–2018, New Delhi), and the National Art Camp: The Shifting Landscape of Telangana (2024, Hyderabad). Early in his career, he contributed to projects with Rajeev Sethi, including Expo (2000, Germany), Silk Route (2002, Smithsonian Festival, Washington D.C., USA), and Lotus Bazaar Forum (2004, Barcelona, Spain).
His works are held in prominent public and private collections in India and abroad, including those of Maria Bassols Delgado (Spain Ambassador, Delhi), Conceicao A. Andrade (World Bank, India), Bobby Bedi (Bollywood producer, Delhi), Neelam Khanna (IHHR Hospitality, Delhi) and Gordon S. Byrn (Schroders Property Asia Group, Delhi).
