Azza Al Qubaisi

Azza Al Qubaisi, born and based in Abu Dhabi, is a pioneering multidisciplinary artist and product designer celebrated as the first Emirati jewelry artist in the United Arab Emirates. Her innovative practice spans various materials, including metals and traditional palm fronds, through which she explores and expresses her Emirati identity. Over the past decade, Al Qubaisi has been actively involved in public art and community engagement, participating in significant local and international events such as the UAE-Brazil 50th diplomatic anniversary in 2024 and the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington, D.C., in 2022.


Her work has been showcased in numerous prestigious solo and group exhibitions worldwide, including the Tanweer Festival in Sharjah (2024), the Abu Dhabi Public Art Biennial (2024–2025), "Forever is Now" at the Giza Pyramids in Egypt (2023), "Portrait of a Nation" in Berlin (2017), and "Three Generations" at Sotheby’s in London (2013). Al Qubaisi has also contributed her distinctive designs to major sporting events such as the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open Tennis Championship and the Mubadala Citi DC Open Tennis Championship. Her creative achievements are highlighted in publications like "500 Earrings: New Directions in Contemporary Jewelry," and she has been honored with awards including the Young Creative Entrepreneur Award from the British Council and the Woman of the Year Award from Emirates Woman magazine.


In addition to her artistic and design work, Azza Al Qubaisi serves as a jury member for the Christo and Jeanne-Claude Awards at New York University Abu Dhabi, a role she has held since 2012. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Jewelry Design and Applied Arts from London Guildhall University (2002) and a Master’s degree in Cultural and Creative Industries from the Higher Colleges of Technology (2018). Through her innovative artistry and active community involvement, Al Qubaisi continues to make significant contributions to contemporary Emirati art and design.
